Acceptable use policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
This policy is part of our terms of service. It applies to everything served through an edge Sireto BV runs for you, on the Free plan and on paid plans. It also applies to how you use the API and the portal. You're responsible for your own use, and for your customers' use of the hostnames you register.
Not allowed
- Illegal content and activity: anything unlawful where you, your customers or we operate. This includes child sexual abuse material, which we report to the authorities.
- Malware and phishing: distributing malicious software, or pages that imitate another organisation to collect credentials, payments or personal data.
- Infringement: content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Spam and fraud: using hostnames on the service to send or support unsolicited bulk messages, scams or deceptive offers.
- Attacks: using the service to attack, scan or overload other systems, or attacking, probing or overloading the service itself, its edges, or other customers.
- Hostnames you may not use: registering a hostname that neither you nor the customer you register it for is entitled to use.
- Origins you don't run: pointing an edge at a third-party site or service you don't operate, or using the service as an open or anonymising proxy.
- Getting around limits: opening extra accounts, creating extra API keys, or otherwise working around a plan's limits, the Free plan's in particular.
- Reselling Free: offering the Free plan, or access to the shared Free edge, to others as a service of your own.
Fair use on the Free plan
The Free plan shares one edge between many customers. It includes up to 10 GB of responses served a month. Above that we email you, and if it keeps happening we'll talk to you about a paid plan. Its request limits are listed in the terms.
What we do about a breach
- We may suspend the application or edge involved. Its hostnames stop being served and its API keys stop working.
- We tell you the reason by email and in the portal, and lift the suspension once the problem is resolved.
- Where possible, we warn you first. We act without warning when the law requires it, or to stop serious harm.
- For serious or repeated breaches, we may end your account, as described in the terms.
- We may report illegal activity to the authorities, and we cooperate with lawful requests.
Reporting abuse
If you see abuse on a hostname served by Custom Domain API, email info@sireto.com with the subject "Abuse report". Include the hostname, what you saw, and when. We look into every report.
